DIY Tangerine Dream Body Scrub
Spring is finally here and with it comes a spirit of renewal and new possibilities! It’s a great time to throw open the windows and let in that fresh, spring air. To lighten our load by decluttering closets, and moving our activities outdoors so we can soak up some sunshine and Vitamin D! It’s also a great time to pack away the parka and slough off winter, and that includes exfoliating and detoxifying our winter skin!
As the largest organ of our body, our skin works hard! It serves as an elimination system, flushing out toxins and excess minerals from the body. While we regenerate new skin cells every 30 days or so, dead cells can build up on the surface during winter, leaving our skin feeling dull, dry, and definitely ready for a little extra love. My Tangerine Dream Body Scrub is a perfect springtime treat that clears out old cells, boosts circulation, improves skin tone, and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.
Making your own scrub is so simple and gratifying, plus it ensures that you’re using only wholesome, non-toxic ingredients…so important since your skin absorbs every single thing you put on it. And the citrusy, sweet smell of tangerine mixed with almond oil is ah-mazing! I’ve chosen sugar as the base for this scrub as I wanted something less abrasive for sensitive skin, but you could substitute sea salt or Epsom salt if you’re looking for a courser exfoliant.
Tangerine Dream Body Scrub

1/2 C Sweet Almond Oil
1/4 tsp Tangerine Essential Oil
1/4 C Orange Peel

Apply liberally in your next shower and enjoy your results!
Note: This makes about 1 1/2 cups of body scrub, and will last about one month.
