Blueberry Peach Brain-Boosting Smoothie
Not only is this smoothie a creamy and delicious treat that’s quick and easy to whip up, it’s also loaded with `vitamins, nutrients, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits that promote optimal brain health. Blueberries contain gallic acid, an anti-oxidant compound with neuroprotective properties that can help keep stress in check. Peaches contain folate, a B-vitamin that plays a role in memory and learning. Hemp Seed, in addition to being a complete protein, is also a great source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, shown to enhance cognitive function. Blended together with protein-rich Cashew Milk and Cashew Butter, this smoothie is one of my favorite ways to refuel after a workout or to sharpen my focus before sitting down to do some writing.
1 C Unsweetened Cashew Milk
1 C Blueberries
1 Peach, peeled and chopped
1 T Hemp Seed
1 T Cashew Butter
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Maple Syrup
Place all ingredients in high-speed blender and blend for about 30 minutes. Add 1/2 C of ice cubes and blend another 30 seconds or so, to thicken.
Garnish with whole blueberries, sliced peaches, edible flowers, or any combination of those you like!
